The GRK7 also known as G protein-coupled receptor kinase 7 is an enzyme that specifically phosphorylates activated forms of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) which leads to their desensitization. It has a molecular mass of approximately 62 kDa. GRK7 is predominantly expressed in photoreceptor cells of the retina particularly in cone cells. This localization plays a significant role in vision especially under bright light conditions and contributes to the regulation of visual signal transduction.
