Functional Studies - Recombinant human IL-1RA protein (Active) (AB283447)
Fully biologically active determined by its ability to inhibit IL-1 alpha-depedent proliferation in D10.G4.1 mouse helper T cells.
ED50 for this effect is ≤42.41 ng/mL corresponding to a specific activity of 2.36 x 104 units/mg.
Cell based assay testing is performed on the first lot of protein only and is provided as a reference for protein activity; subsequent lots of protein must pass all biophysical quality control parameters that meet the same parameters as the first lot.

General info
Function
Anti-inflammatory antagonist of interleukin-1 family of proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1beta/IL1B and interleukin-1alpha/IL1A. Protects from immune dysregulation and uncontrolled systemic inflammation triggered by IL1 for a range of innate stimulatory agents such as pathogens.
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the IL-1 family.
