80nm Gold Nanoparticles (15 OD) (ab269941) is an aqueous suspension of spherical metallic nanoparticles manufactured to the highest standard to ensure:

This product is manufactured by Expedeon, an Abcam company. It was previously called 80nm Gold Nanoparticles (15 OD). Expedeon product code 3815-0010 is the same as the 10 mL size of this product and code 3815-0100 is the same as the 100 mL size.
Our colloidal Gold Nanoparticles are suspended in citrate buffer and are suitable for:
- Protein adsorption
- Oligonucleotide adsorption
- Surface modifications.
Narrow size distribution and consistent shape is important and preferable for most applications.
A consistent, spherical shape means that particles are less prone to aggregation, which can be a problem associated with gold nanoparticles. Furthermore uniform shape ensures consistent binding of antibodies, ensuring reliable assay results.
Each batch of 80nm colloidal gold undergoes TEM analysis to ensure all the requirements are met.
Once the product is opened, it is recommended to use it within 6 months to ensure optimal performance.
