Mechanism of Action:Human Red Blood Cell Depletion Microbubbles employ a monoclonal murine IgG against the human RBC glycophorin-A sialoglycoprotein (CD235a). CD235a’s high specificity for human erythrocytes, and its high density on RBC surfaces, make it an excellent affinity molecule for capture.

The results of a PBMC sample before (left) and after (right) using the Human Red Blood Cell Depletion Kit. Using microbubbles to prepare a sample before beginning the cell sorting process can not only reduce sort times by 1/3 or more, but can result in a larger population of healthy, viable cells at the end of the sort.
