Fluorescent secondary antibodies
Fluorescent secondary antibodies are crucial tools in biological research, facilitating the detailed visualization and quantification of target molecules within complex biological systems. These antibodies are generally used in conjunction with primary antibodies to provide a fluorescent signal, which can be detected using various imaging techniques such as fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and western blot analysis. The fluorescence emitted through these secondary antibodies helps in the precise mapping of proteins, cells, and tissues, enabling researchers to observe biological processes with exceptional clarity and detail.
At Abcam, we offer a comprehensive range of high-quality fluorescent secondary antibodies, including FITC, PE, and Cy dye conjugated antibodies, tailored to meet diverse research needs. These products are optimized for high specificity, minimal cross-reactivity, and enhanced signal-to-noise ratio, allowing for accurate, reproducible results.
FITC-conjugated secondary antibodies
FITC-conjugated secondary antibodies provide a high-intensity cyan-green fluorescence ideal for flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and other cell-based assays. Excitation maximum is 495nm, and emission maximum is 519 nm.
PE-conjugated secondary antibodies
PE-conjugated secondary antibodies emit bright red fluorescence, making them suitable for multiplexing applications in flow cytometry and microscopy.
Cy dye-conjugated secondary antibodies
Cy dye-conjugated secondary antibodies are available in multiple colors, facilitating easy multiplexing and depth of analysis in fluorescence-based applications.
Alexa Fluor® conjugated secondary antibodies
Alexa Fluor® conjugated secondaries are the brightest fluorescent secondary antibodies, created from Alexa Fluor® dyes. We offer secondary antibodies conjugated to nine Alexa Fluor® dyes that cover the whole spectrum with minimal spectral overlap, thus ideal for multi-color analysis and use in cell imaging and flow cytometry experiments.
Our range spans over 200 different Alexa Fluor® conjugated secondary antibodies, raised across many species, including donkey, goat, and rabbit. They can be used against specific IgG subclasses (eg IgG2a and IgG2b) to detect multiple targets to which primary antibodies raised in different species are unavailable. To further minimize background from cross-species reactivity, we recommend using Alexa Fluor® pre-adsorbed secondary antibodies.
