DGKK
Function
Diacylglycerol kinase that converts diacylglycerol/DAG into phosphatidic acid/phosphatidate/PA and regulates the respective levels of these two bioactive lipids (PubMed:16210324, PubMed:23949095). Thereby, acts as a central switch between the signaling pathways activated by these second messengers with different cellular targets and opposite effects in numerous biological processes (Probable).
Pathway
Lipid metabolism; glycerolipid metabolism.
Post-translational modifications
Phosphorylated at Tyr-78 by some member of the SRC family in response to H(2)O(2).
Sequence Similarities
Belongs to the eukaryotic diacylglycerol kinase family.
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in testis, and to a lesser extent in placenta.
Cellular localization
- Cell membrane
- Peripheral membrane protein
