Tff2
Function
Inhibits gastrointestinal motility and gastric acid secretion. Could function as a structural component of gastric mucus, possibly by stabilizing glycoproteins in the mucus gel through interactions with carbohydrate side chains.
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in the digestive tract, where it was found predominantly in the stomach with highest expression in the antrum. It is secreted predominantly from antral mucous cells into the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract.
Cellular localization
- Secreted
