Function
Regulator of plasma phosphate homeostasis. Decreases serum inorganic phosphate (Pi) uptake by regulating the sodium-phosphate cotransporter SLC34A1 trafficking by PTH and FGF23 in the kidney.
Tissue Specificity
Predominantly expressed in kidney (PubMed:20331980). Selectively localized in the apical membrane of renal proximal tubule epithelial cells (PubMed:35459732).
