Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is a rapid and stable enzyme commonly used as a detection reagent in immunoassays such as western blot, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and ELISA. The high turnover rate of HRP enables secondary antibodies conjugated to this enzyme to generate strong signals in short time spans.
HRP substrates can fall into different categories, including chromogenic (eg DAB, TMB, OPD), fluorogenic (eg ADHP), and chemiluminescent (eg ECL) depending on whether they produce a colored, fluorometric, or luminescent derivative.
We offer HRP secondary antibodies against diverse species and their isotypes, as well as in fragment and pre-adsorbed forms.
High sensitivity – detect low-abundant targets with high signal-to-noise ratios due to an optimal number of HRP molecules per antibody
Robust – can be used at dilutions ranging from 1/2,000 to 1/20,000 and provide high specificity and minimal background
Stable – supplied in a liquid format that is ready to use and can be stored at 4°C.
Flexible – compatible with chromogenic, fluorogenic, and chemiluminescent substrates
Extensive validation – extensively tested and optimized for WB, IHC, and ELISA
To further minimize background from cross-species reactivity, we recommend using HRP pre-adsorbed secondary antibodies.
