RelevanceErasin is an integral membrane protein of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) that binds valosin-containing protein (VCP) and promotes ER-associated protein degradation (ERAD). Immunohistochemical staining of brain tissue from patients with Alzheimer's disease and control subjects revealed that Erasin accumulates preferentially in neurons undergoing neurofibrillary degeneration in Alzheimer's disease.

Erasin was immunoprecipitated from HEK-293T (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney transformed with large T antigen) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab242088 at 8 µl/reaction. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab242088 at 1/4000 dilution.
Lane 1: ab242088 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: Control IgG IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.
Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 30 seconds.
