Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab3091 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): use at a concentration of 2 - 4µg/ml for 30 minutes at RT.
Not tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions / concentrations should be determined by the end user.
By Western blot, this antibody detects a band of ~ 31 kDa, which corresponds to the predicted molecular weight of Estrogen Sulfotransferase.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
FunctionMay control the level of the estrogen receptor by sulfurylating free estradiol. Maximally sulfates beta-estradiol and estrone at concentrations of 20 nM. Also sulfates dehydroepiandrosterone, pregnenolone, ethinylestradiol, equalenin, diethylstilbesterol and 1-naphthol, at significantly higher concentrations; however, cortisol, testosterone and dopamine are not sulfated.
Tissue specificityLiver, intestine and at lower level in the kidney.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the sulfotransferase 1 family.
