Epigenetics in the nervous system: development and disease

Standard registration deadline extended: September 5

Venue
Biomedicum at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden
Date
October 1-3, 2018

Conference summary

Chromatin modifiers, non-coding RNAs and transcription factors are key modulators of gene expression during the development of the peripheral and central nervous systems. Their regulatory role in neural cell function and in neurological diseases has been emerging in recent years. This meeting will gather experts with key findings in the field of neuroepigenetics to discuss these latest developments, and novel technologies which currently allow the study of neural gene regulation mechanisms with an unprecedented detail and resolution.

Talk: Behind the scenes of scientific publish at EMBO

Anne Nielsen, Senior Editor, The EMBO Journal

Publishing research papers is a cornerstone of working in life sciences but do you know what actually happens to your manuscript once it is submitted to a journal? Anne Nielsen – scientific editor for The EMBO journal – will take you behind the scenes of scientific publishing at EMBO and explain how editors make decisions, find referees and work with authors to improve the revised manuscript. She will also discuss some of the challenges and changes currently seen in the publishing landscape.
