Applications

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab205332 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use a concentration of 1 - 5 µg/ml.
ICC/IF Use a concentration of 2 - 10 µg/ml.

Target

  • Function

Lipid transport protein in adipocytes. Binds both long chain fatty acids and retinoic acid. Delivers long-chain fatty acids and retinoic acid to their cognate receptors in the nucleus.
  • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family.
  • Domain

Forms a beta-barrel structure that accommodates hydrophobic ligands in its interior.
  • Cellular localization

Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Depending on the nature of the ligand, a conformation change exposes a nuclear localization motif and the protein is transported into the nucleus. Subject to constitutive nuclear export.

Images

  • Anti-FABP4 antibody (ab205332) at 5 µg/ml + Recombinant Human FABP4

    Secondary
    AP-conjugated secondary antibody
  • Immunofluorescence analysis of a coculture of  HDLECs and C2C12 cells labeling FABP4 and CD31  with ab205332 (green) and a mouse anti-CD31 monoclonal antibody (red). ab205332 was used at 10 µg/ml and detected with Alexa Fluor® 488 goat anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody at a dilution of 1/600  (green). Goat anti-mouse PE was used for the detectiobn of CD31 (red).

  • Immunofluorescence analysis of  primary human dermal microvascular endothelial cells (HDMEC) cells labeling FABP4 with ab205332 at 10 µg/ml. Alexa Fluor® 488 goat anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody at a dilution of 1/600 was used as the secondary antibody (green). The slide is counter stained with Dapi (blue).  The images were captured  at 200X magnification (upper panel) and 400X magnification (lower panel).
