Product code: 121055
Hallo, I need some informations regarding these two products: ab121055 Anti-Factor H antibody [C18/3] ab112556 Anti-Factor H antibody [C18/3] they seems to be the same product, is it correct?
Further I would like to know is this is the C18 antibody described by Zipfel in this paper: Oppermann M, Manuelian T, Józsi M, Brandt E, Jokiranta TS, Heinen S, Meri S, Skerka C, Götze O, Zipfel PF. The C-terminus of complement regulator Factor H mediates target recognition: evidence for a compact conformation of the native protein. Clin Exp Immunol. 2006 May144(2):342-52. PubMed PMID: 16634809
the C18 antibody recognises both factor H and FHR-1, and is actually the one I need!
So, is your antibody recognising both proteins?
Thanks Best Regards

Thank you for your inquiry.
ab121055 and ab112556 both correspond to the same clone [C18/3] indeed. They are duplicate references, I wil contact my colleagues responsible for the website about this mistake.
The clone [C18/3] seems to be different from the antibody clone number [C18] described by Zipfel since it has been shown to not cross-react with the truncated forms of factor H.
To find the clone [C18] described by Zipfel, I would like to recommend contacting Zipfel directly or checking the Biocompare website which has an excellent antibody search facility that includes many suppliers : http://www.biocompare.com.
Alternatively we are happy to be able to offer custom antibody services through Epitomics, an Abcam company. For more information about these services visit http://www.epitomics.com/services/, or email: mailto:email@example.com.
I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions in this regard.
