Applications

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab230410 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB 1/1000 - 1/5000. Detects a band of approximately 18 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 18 kDa).
IP 1/200 - 1/2000.
IHC-P 1/20 - 1/200.

Target

  • Function

Component of the cytosolic iron-sulfur protein assembly (CIA) complex, a multiprotein complex that mediates the incorporation of iron-sulfur cluster into extramitochondrial Fe/S proteins. As part of the mitotic spindle-associated MMXD complex it plays a role in chromosome segregation, probably by facilitating iron-sulfur cluster assembly into ERCC2/XPD.
  • Sequence similarities

    Belongs to the MIP18 family.
  • Cellular localization

Nucleus. Cytoplasm > cytoskeleton > spindle.
  • Information by UniProt

  • Paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue stained for FAM96B using ab230410 at 1/100 dilution in immunochemical analysis.

  • FAM96B was immunoprecipitated from 500 µg HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate with 4 µg of ab230410. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab230410 and an HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG, specific to the non-reduced form of IgG was used as the secondary antibody at 1/50,000 dilution.

Lane 1: 1 µg of rabbit monoclonal IgG instead of ab230410 in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: ab230410 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 3: HeLa whole cell lysate 20 µg (input).
