Target

  • Function

Participates in the innate immune response to Gram-positive bacteria and fungi. Acts via MYD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Recognizes mycoplasmal macrophage-activating lipopeptide-2kD (MALP-2), soluble tuberculosis factor (STF), phenol-soluble modulin (PSM) and B.burgdorferi outer surface protein A lipoprotein (OspA-L) cooperatively with TLR2.
  • Tissue specificity

Detected in monocytes, CD11c+ immature dendritic cells, plasmacytoid pre-dendritic cells and dermal microvessel endothelial cells.
  • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the Toll-like receptor family.
    Contains 12 LRR (leucine-rich) repeats.
    Contains 1 LRRCT domain.
    Contains 1 TIR domain.
  • Cellular localization

Cell membrane. Cytoplasmic vesicle > phagosome membrane.

    Question

    To whomever this may concern,
I am interested in finding out the immunogen sequences for your antibodies Ab72362, Ab58864, and Ab16892 as they are not listed on your website. Do you have this information?

    Answer

    Thank you for your inquiry.

The products ab16892 and ab58864 are both from the same clone [5G5] and have the same immunogen: Purified fusion protein of extracellular domain of human TLR9 (AA 1-815) and human IgGFc.The immunogen for both is as described in the paper below:

Ahmad-Nejad, P et al; Bacterial CpG-DNA and lipopolysaccharides activate Toll-like receptors at distinct cellular compartments. Eur J Immunol 2002, 32: 1958

Regarding ab72362, the immunogen is BALB/c mice immunized with Ba/F3 cells that stably expressed human Myc-tagged TLR6. The epitope has not been mapped.
I hope this information helps. Please contact us with any other questions.

    Question

    To whomever this may concern,

I am writing to inquire about your following products Ab72362, Ab22046, Ab58864
    and Ab16892.
We are planning on completing Flow Cytometry on bovine blood mononuclear cells
in order to quantify the expression of TLRs 2, 4, 6 and 9. We have already found
a bovine-specific antibody for TLR2, but are still looking for antibodies to the
    other TLRs.
We are interested if you have tested and proved the cross reactivity of your
products above for bovine. If you have, or if you have other products that
would be suitable, please let us know. If you have not, we were hoping to get a
small aliquot of these antibodies in order to test them for cross reactivity to
    bovine ourselves.

    Answer

Thank you very much for your interest in our products.

To our knowledge, none of our TLR6 or TLR9 antibodies havebeen tested in bovine. Since we have over 90,000 products we cannot store multiple vial sizes for testing. Therefore, I can offer a discount off a future purchase if you buyanti-TLR6 and anti-TLR9antibodies now, test them inbovine and submit feedback to us in the form of an Abreview. It doesn’t matter whether the Abreview is positive or negative, we would just really like to receive your feedback. The discount would be to the value of: 1 free primary antibody per antibody tested.

If you are interested in this offer, please follow these steps:

    1. Reply to this e-mail to let me know that you would like to proceedand let me know the catalogue number of the product/s youwould like to testin bovine. I will then send thediscount code/s.The codesmust be issued before purchasing the antibodies so please wait for my reply before ordering.

    2. Purchasethe antibodyeither by phone, fax, or online (www.abcam.com).

    3. Test it in bovine.

    4. Let us know the results, positive or negative, using our Abreview system (this will take about 10 minutes and images are great if you have them!). To find out how to submit an Abreview, please visit: https://www.abcam.com/abreviews.

    5. After the review is submitted to us, the discount code becomes active. Simply place your new order by phone, fax, or on the web and mention the discount code. The discount can be redeemed for any primary antibody ordered and the discount code is valid for 4 months after issue.
Please remember that submission of the Abreview is sufficient for the discount code to become active.

We are always pleased to obtain feedback about our products and any information is greatly appreciated! Even ifthe antibodyturns out to be unsuitable for bovine, you will still receive the discount on your next purchase after your Abreview has been submitted.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this offer and I would be happy to help you further.

The Terms and Conditions of this offer can be found at: https://www.abcam.com/collaborationdiscount.
