      The lentivirus FIV, responsible for a progressive and debilitating immune deficiency syndrome in domestic cats, similar to that caused by the human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), is a complex retrovirus with a tightly-packed genome, containing the structural genes gag, env and pro-pol and the accessory genes vif, rev and ORF-A/2. p24 (Capsid protein) - part of the gag polyprotein, forms the conical core of the virus that encapsulates the genomic RNA-nucleocapsid complex.

    Indeed I can confirm that the ab54075 (clone NM3-6A9) recognizes a different epitope to ab53265 (clone PAK3-2C1) and that therefore they should be able to be used together in a Sandwich ELISA. I can also confirm that the biotinylated ab53265 is best if used as detection antibody. The issue however I was investigating is the adjunction of the Triton. Indeed, the ab53265 needs Triton in order to work. This should be added prior to the secondary antibody incubation accordingly to our source. However, we unfortunately do not have information whether the ab54075 does still recognize the epitope when the protein is treated with Triton. I can therefore not ascertain if these antibodies will work together. However we to have the ab53621 in our catalogue, which will work in the presence of Triton. I can therefore recommend to use the ab53621 in conjunction with the ab53265 in order to perform a sandwich ELISA - the ab53621 as coating and the ab53265 as detection antibody, as it is biotinylated.
