FunctionBroad specificity oxidoreductase that catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of a variety of flavins, such as riboflavin, FAD or FMN, biliverdins, methemoglobin and PQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinone). Contributes to heme catabolism and metabolizes linear tetrapyrroles. Can also reduce the complexed Fe(3+) iron to Fe(2+) in the presence of FMN and NADPH. In the liver, converts biliverdin to bilirubin.
Tissue specificityPredominantly expressed in liver and erythrocytes. At lower levels in heart, lung, adrenal gland and cerebrum.

FLR was immunoprecipitated from HEK-293T (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney transformed with large T antigen) whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded, prepared using NETN lysis buffer) using ab241286 at 6 µg per reaction. Western blot was performed on the immunoprecipitate using ab241286 at 1 µg/ml.
Lane 1: ab241286 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: Control IgG.
Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.
All lanes : Anti-FLR antibody (ab241286) at 0.1 µg/ml
Lane 1 : HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate
