We used this antibody by itself without antigen retrieval using a standard IHC protocol on 10µm free-floating midbrain sections, which gave us unspecific staining, e.g. far more cells than expected were stained.
We repeated the protocol using an antigen retrieval protocol sodium citrate, this gave us no staining of cell bodies or dendrites at all.
Previously we used the ab108 and ab5992 using the same protocols with satisfactory results.
