Function
Functions as a negative regulator of the TORC1 signaling pathway through the GATOR complex. As part of homooligomers or heterooligomers with GATSL3, directly binds the GATOR subcomplex GATOR2 and prevents TORC1 signaling. Does not directly bind arginine, but binding of arginine to GATSL3 disrupts the interaction of GATSL2-containing heterooligomers with GATOR2 and activates the TORC1 signaling pathway. -
Tissue specificity
Widely expressed. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the GATS family.
Contains 2 ACT domains. -
