I would like to use glutamate assay kit on astrocytes cultures. I've read in this website that many are using this kit on astrocytes cultures therefore I'm wondering if you could suggest how much I should dilute my samples in order to have readings within the standard curve range, considering that in my petri dishes there are about 1x10^6 astrocytes. I'd also like to know if you have any suggestions about medium dilutions as well. thank you.

The Glutamate Assay Kit (ab83389) can be used to asses the level of glutamate in a range of different biological samples. Unfortunately, the dilution range required will need to be assessed for the different samples you are hoping to use the kit with. This is not something we would be able to predict and I do not have any information of these exact samples having been used. You will need to perform a pilot experiment in order to find out at which dilutions the concentration of glutamate falls within the linear range of the standard curve.
