  • General notes

    ab21966 reacts with cellular glutathione peroxidase. This is a 201 amino acid selenium dependant cytoplasmic enzyme that exists as a homotetramer. This enzyme protects red blood cells and other cells from oxidative damage.

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab21966 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Thank you very much for contacting us.

The possible rabbit specific antibodies are available as;

ICAM1: the rabbit protein sequence (http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q75T02) does not show any homology with human protein (http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P05362) so I am sorry we do not have any antibody available that can cross react with rabbit.

VCAM 1; ab98954 is the rabbit specific antibody.

SOD; ab13498

GPX: ab21966 is a good predicted candidate to try as the immunogen sequence is quite similar to rabbit (? http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P07203)

TNF alpha: ab66579 is predicted to work with rabbit as it has 90% immunogen sequence homology.

CRP: ab13426 immunogen sequence is homologous to rabbit so it is predicted to react.

Lipoxygenase; there are different forms of Lipoxygenase available e.g. LOX5, LOx12, LOX15. Which one you would interested in getting? ab23678 is anti LOX12 that can cross react with rabbit.

We do not have anti IL6 rabbit cross reactive antibody as the sequence of rabbit and human aren't homologous.

Thank you for your enquiry and your patience. I apologize for the delay in obtaining the images, however, we now have some excellent images that we added to the online datasheet. This is a high titer antibody and when characterized on dot blots it will detect 500 ng of antigen at dilutions out to 1/500,000 which is much higher than most antibodies. A pathology laboratory has been very pleased with this antibody and the originator of the antibody has seen their immunohistochemical images at 1/30,000 which were still good. They have optimized their antigen retrieval techniques. We suggest using 1/1000 as a starting dilution, but you would need to characterize the antibody using your tissue and techniques. A particularly good feature of this antibody is that it has a very low background as seen in the images on the datasheet. I hope these images help you, and please contact us again if you have additional questions.
