    Question

Hi, I would like to know whether this Ab cross reacts with IgGs from any other species. If yes, are there any Abs from your company that recognizes specifically human IgGs? Thank you

    Answer

Anti-Human IgG antibody ab6858 has not been tested for reactivity with other species. For an antibody that is exclusively reactive with human IgG, we recommend ab97175.

    Asked on Dec 20 2011

    Answer

Thank you for contacting us. For this secondary antibody we recommend a 1/180K dilution with ELISA. However, you will need to optimise and determine the best dilutions for your specific assay; considering starting dilutions from 1/40000. I hope this information is helpful to you.

    Question

I want to purchase goat anti-human IgG secondary antibody conjugated with HRP for ELISA. I want to test the autoantibodies in human serum. What is the difference between pre-adsorbed and none pre-adsorbed antibody? Which one is better for my test? Thank you very much!  Best regards,

    Asked on Aug 18 2011

    Answer

Thank you for contacting us. Pre-adsorbed antibodies are more specific towards primary antibodies than the non pre-adsorbed products. Usually, a conjugated antibody is purified by affinity chromatography using an antigen of interest coupled to agarose beads. The conjugated antibody binds its antigen on the column and will then be eluted. Pre-adsorption purifications can be performed to further increase the specificity of a secondary antibody. Adsorption chromatography involves a stationary phase as an adsorbent. Conjugated antibodies are then passed through gel containing immobilized serum proteins from potentially cross-reactive species. The resulting purified antibody is more pure and specific significantly reducing cross reactivity. Pre-adsorbed secondary antibodies reduce non-specific background staining, especially in IHC when working with closely homologous species I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

    Question

Is there any difference between Human IgG antibodies ab6858 and ab7153?

    Asked on Aug 15 2007

    Answer

Thank you for your recent telephone enquiry. I can confirm that these two antibodies are essentially the same. The difference is that ab7153 is further purified by preadsorbtion to minimize its cross reactivity to 10 serum other serum proteins. I hope this information is helpful. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
