    Question

The host species of the primary antibody is rat, not rabbit. Also, I will be staining PFA fixed mouse brain. Does that change your recommendation?

    Answer

    Thank you for your reply.

The secondary antibody I recommended, ab7093, will react with primary antibodies raised in rat. It has also been prepared so that it will not react with antibodies or samples from rabbit or mouse. This is desirable for your experiment because it will help to ensure specificity and reduce background staining. The antibody will be fine for PFA fixed tissue that is either frozen or paraffin embedded. I hope this helps, please let me know if you need any additional information or assistance.
