Customer reviews and Q&As

Answer

Thank you for the followup. I agree this needs to be replaced. The antibody you have picked as a replacement, ab6892, is available, but it is not pre-adsorbed. (Ab7146 is pre-adsorbed, to remove reactivity with other species of IgG). Will this be acceptable? It is usually only a requirement if one is staining for multiple targets in a single sample with multiple antibodies. There have not been other complaints about ab14917. We have two more vials of lot **** but they may move quickly. Can you please send a few details of your  IHC protocol (fixation, retrieval, diilution) and samples? Given that it was working with lot ****, we expect it would work with the most recent, but if you are working with a species other than mouse, there might be some lot-to-lot variability with respect to cross-reactivity.

Question
Answer

The antibody ab7146 will not work very well with Armenian Hamster IgG and I have been informed that the most suitable antibody is ab5745 (Rabbit polyclonal to Hamster (Armenian) IgG H&L (HRP)) https://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=5745 I hope this information will help you, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance,
