This product is manufactured by Expedeon, an Abcam company. Expedeon product code 260-0005 was previously called AbPure™ Protein A Purification System 1 purification and is the same as the 1 test size of this product. Expedeon product code 260-0010 was previously called AbPure™ Protein A Purification System 3 purification and is the same as the 3 tests size of this product.
GOLD antibody purification kit (ab204909) removes common buffer constituents found in commercial antibodies (e.g. BSA, glycine, tris and azide) that decrease the efficiency of conjugation reactions with GOLD particles using our GOLD conjugation kits. ab204909 can also be used to purify antibodies from crude samples such as ascites fluid or serum. The antibody should ideally be in a volume of 100 - 500 µl. Up to 500 µg of antibody can be purified in each run.
The method involves capture of the antibody on Protein A Resin and removal of unwanted substances by a simple wash procedure, using a standard microfuge. The purified antibody is then eluted and neutralized.
Antibodies purified using the GOLD antibody purification kit are fully compatible with our GOLD antibody conjugation kits. To purify antibodies for use with our other antibody conjugation kits, we recommend using one of our other purification kits - view our selection guide.
For purifying mouse IgG, we recommend using GOLD mouse antibody purification kit ab204910.
