    This antibody is useful as a general reagent for the detection of axonal growth cones in tissue sections and potentially a key marker in neuronal development research.


    This antibody recognises an intracellular protein 2G13p which is restricted to growth cones in developing brain and embryonic neurons in culture. The protein 2G13p also appears to be associated with filamentous actin in the growth cones suggesting a role for 2G13p in growth cone motility. This antibody is suitable for use in immunohistological studies of both frozen and paraffin-embedded sections, staining growth cones, including their filopodia and lamellipodies.

  • Immunocytochemical immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde-fixed rat primary hippocampal & spinal neuronal cells, sourced from day 18 embryonic tissue, labelling Growth Cone with ab7762 at a 1/5 dilution in 5% BSA in PBS, incubated for 1 hour at 25°C. Permeabilization was performed with 0.2% Triton X100 in PBS. Blocking agent was 5% BSA incubated for 3 hours at 25°C. Secondary was a Donkey anti-Mouse polyclonal Alexa Fluor® 488 at a 1/500 dilution.
