Pathway
Lipid metabolism; fatty acid beta-oxidation. -
Involvement in disease
Defects in HADHB are a cause of trifunctional protein deficiency (TFP deficiency) [MIM:609015]. The clinical manifestations are very variable and include hypoglycemia, cardiomyopathy and sudden death. Phenotypes with mainly hepatic and neuromyopathic involvement can also be distinguished. Biochemically, TFP deficiency is defined by the loss of all three enzyme activities of the TFP complex. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the thiolase family. -

HRP Anti-HADHB antibody [5C3AB7] (ab198398) at 1/5000 dilution + HepG2 (Human hepatocellular liver carcinoma cell line) Whole Cell Lysate at 10 µg
Developed using the ECL technique.
Performed under reducing conditions.
Predicted band size: 51 kDa
Observed band size: 51 kDa
Exposure time: 30 secondsThis blot was produced using a 4-12% Bis-tris gel under the MOPS buffer system. The gel was run at 200V for 50 minutes before being transferred onto a Nitrocellulose membrane at 30V for 70 minutes. The membrane was then blocked for an hour using 2% Bovine Serum Albumin before being incubated with ab198398 overnight at 4°C. Antibody binding was visualised using ECL development solution ab133406.
