RelevanceHCST is a transmembrane signaling adaptor that contains a YxxM motif in its cytoplasmic domain. It may form part of the immune recognition receptor complex with the C-type lectin-like receptor NKG2D and may activate phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase dependent signaling pathways. The receptor complex containing HCST may have a role in cell survival and proliferation by activation of NK and T cell responses. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.

Predicted band size: 9 kDa
Observed band size: 40 kDa why is the actual band size different from the predicted?
Additional bands at: 100 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands.
Detected by chemiluminescence.
The additional 100 kDa band of unknown identity was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunising peptide.
