Product overview
Trichostatin A-treated HeLa lysate serve as a positive controls for western blotting with antibodies to acetylated proteins. Trichostatin A is an inhibitor of class I and II histone deacetylases. A vehicle-treated HeLa lysate is also be included.
Concentration: HeLa trichostatin A-treated lysate, 200 µg at 2.0 mg/mL
HeLa vehicle-treated lysate, 200 µg at 2.0 mg/mL -
Notes
Acetylation of histone proteins is an important means of regulating gene transcription. Trichostatin A is an inhibitor of class I and II histone deacetylases, and can also function as a cell cycle inhibitor. The trichostatin A-treated HeLa lysate is designed for use as a western blot positive control for antibodies against acetylated histones or other proteins (e.g. p53). It can also be used as a control for experimental treatments to investigate acetylation or deacetylation of histones and other proteins.
