Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab137749 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB 1/500 - 1/3000. Predicted molecular weight: 33 kDa.
IHC-P 1/100 - 1/1000. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6 before commencing with IHC staining protocol. Alternatively antigen retrieval using heat mediated Tris/EDTA buffer (pH 8.0) may be used.
ICC/IF 1/100 - 1/1000.

Target

  • Function

Heme oxygenase cleaves the heme ring at the alpha methene bridge to form biliverdin. Biliverdin is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase. Under physiological conditions, the activity of heme oxygenase is highest in the spleen, where senescent erythrocytes are sequestrated and destroyed.
  • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the heme oxygenase family.
  • Cellular localization

    Microsome. Endoplasmic reticulum.
  • Target information above from: UniProt accession P09601 The UniProt Consortium
The Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) in 2010

    Answer

Cross reactivity with Heme Oxygenase 2 has not specifically been tested at this point. However, an alignment of the immungen with Heme Oxygenase 2 shows roughly 57% identities which is well below the level we expect is need to generate cross reactivity.
