Binds 3-phosphoinositides (via ENTH domain). May act through the ENTH domain to promote cell survival by stabilizing receptor tyrosine kinases following ligand-induced endocytosis. Involvement in diseaseNote=A chromosomal aberration involving HIP1 is found in a form of chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML). Translocation t(5;7)(q33;q11.2) with PDGFRB. The chimeric HIP1-PDGFRB transcript results from an in-frame fusion of the two genes. The reciprocal PDGFRB-HIP1 transcript is not expressed.

HIP1 was immunoprecipitated from HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) using ab264377 at 6 μg per reaction. Western blot was performed on the immunoprecipitates using ab264377 at 0.4 μg/ml.
Lane 1: ab264377 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: Control IgG IP in Hela whole cell lysate.
Exposure time: 3 seconds.
