A customer would like to purchase anti-hirudin antibody. He wonders why antibodies provided by abcam have species specificity. Would you please help to answer this question? Thank you for your help!

Thank you for contacting us.
We test ab17198 and ab36390 byaccessing their binding abilities to human thrombin and to complex of human thrombin with the thromobin inhibitor hirudin. We have not tested the antibodies in other species other than human so do not have any empirical data regarding the species specificity of the products. Therefore we only state the species that we have tested on the datasheet.
I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.
