Acetylation of histones such histone H4 has been involved in the regulation of chromatin structure and the recruitment of transcription factors to gene promoters. HATs (histone acetyltransferases) and HDACs (histone deacetylases) play a critical role in controlling histone H4 actylation. Histone acetylation is tightly involved in cell cycle regulation, cell proliferation and apoptosis. Reversible acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 is believed to correlate with potential transcriptionally activity of eukaryotic chromatin domains.
Histone H4 Acetylation Assay Kit (ab115103) allows the user to measure global histone H4 acetylation at tremendously fast speeds and consistency, superior and safer than all other current methods.
