    Homer is a neuronal immediate early gene that is enriched at excitatory synapses and selectively binds metabotropic glutamate receptors.
  • Cellular localization

    Cytoplasmic; Cell junction, synapse, postsynaptic cell membrane, postsynaptic density. Note=Postsynaptic density of neuronal cells. Isoform 1 inhibits surface expression of GRM5 causing it to be retained in the endoplasmic reticulum.

  • ab97593 staining Homer (1b+1c) in mouse brain tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-Fr - frozen sections). Tissue was fixed with paraformaldehyde, blocked with 1% BSA for 60 minutes at 25°C. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/200 in 1% BSA + 0.1% Tx-PBS) for 16 hours at 25°C. An Alexa Flour® 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG polyclonal (1/500) was used as the secondary antibody.
