ELISA
  • Application notes
ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Antibody detection limit dilution 1/32,000.
WB: Use at a concentration of 0.3 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 282 kDa.
Preliminary experiments gave an approx 50 kDa band in human skin lysates after 0.3 µg/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 282 kDa according to NP_001009931.1. The 50 kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.
  • Target

    • Relevance

Hornerin has similar structural features to those of profilaggrin, an essential protein for keratinization of epidermal tissues. Hornerin may play a role in cornification.
    • Cellular localization

Cytoplasmic granule. Note: Found in keratohyalin granules in the granular cells of the epidermis
