Anti-HPV antibody [BPV-1-1H8] (ab2417) I note from the web page [https://www.abcam.com/HPV-antibody-BPV-1-1H8-ab2417.html]that it states this is also an anti E6/early transforming protein E6 antibody, under the Alternative Names section. This cannot be true if it has been raised against whole (BPV-1) virus, because E6 is made only after infection and is not packaged within the virus. Anti-BPV L1 would be an alternative name. It would be worrying for someone to confuse E6 and L1 in either research or diagnostic uses of this antibody, so it might be worth correcting the mistake. The ELISA also confirms its reactivity with purified L1 (not E6). Unless I am horribly confused. We shall shortly be ordering this antibody to test it in various non-human species Cheers!
