WB | 1/5000. Detects a band of approximately 73 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 52 kDa). |
Target
-
Function
Binds heme and transports it to the liver for breakdown and iron recovery, after which the free hemopexin returns to the circulation. -
Tissue specificity
Expressed by the liver and secreted in plasma. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the hemopexin family.
Contains 5 hemopexin-like domains. -
Post-translational
modificationsN- and O-glycosylated. O-glycosylated with core 1 or possibly core 8 glycans. -
Cellular localization
Secreted. - Information by UniProt

HRP Anti-Hemopexin antibody [EPR5610] (ab198556) at 1/5000 dilution + Human Plasma Total Protein Lysate at 10 µg
Developed using the ECL technique.
Performed under reducing conditions.
Predicted band size: 52 kDa
Observed band size: 73 kDa why is the actual band size different from the predicted?
Exposure time: 20 secondsThis blot was produced using a 4-12% Bis-tris gel under the MOPS buffer system. The gel was run at 200V for 50 minutes before being transferred onto a Nitrocellulose membrane at 30V for 70 minutes. The membrane was then blocked for an hour using 3% milk before being incubated with ab198556 overnight at 4°C. Antibody binding was visualised using ECL development solution ab133406.
