  • Species reactivity

    Reacts with: Species independent
  • Immunogen

Full length native protein (purified native p24 from strain IIIb).

  • General notes

Purified IgG fraction covalently coupled to a highly purified preparation of horseradish peroxidase (RZ>3). Care is taken to ensure adequate conjugation while preserving maximum enzyme activity. Free enzyme is removed.

Reproducibility is key to advancing scientific discovery and accelerating scientists’ next breakthrough.

Abcam is leading the way with our range of recombinant antibodies, knockout-validated antibodies and knockout cell lines, all of which support improved reproducibility.

We are also planning to innovate the way in which we present recommended applications and species on our product datasheets, so that only applications & species that have been tested in our own labs, our suppliers or by selected trusted collaborators are covered by our Abpromise™ guarantee.

In preparation for this, we have started to update the applications & species that this product is Abpromise guaranteed for.

We are also updating the applications & species that this product has been “predicted to work with,” however this information is not covered by our Abpromise guarantee.

Applications & species from publications and Abreviews that have not been tested in our own labs or in those of our suppliers are not covered by the Abpromise guarantee.

Applications

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab20365 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
ELISA 1/200 - 1/1000.
ICC 1/20 - 1/200.
WB 1/200 - 1/1000. Predicted molecular weight: 56 kDa. Dilution optimised using Chromogenic detection. When using chemiluminescent substrates, the assay will require much less antibody. Depending on the sensitivity of the substrate, the antibody dilution may be 1/10,000 - 1/100,000.

Target

  • Relevance

HIV1 performs highly complex orchestrated tasks during the assembly, budding, maturation and infection stages of the viral replication cycle. During viral assembly, the proteins form membrane associations and self-associations that ultimately result in budding of an immature virion from the infected cell. Gag precursors also function during viral assembly to selectively bind and package two plus strands of genomic RNA. Capsid protein p24 probably forms the conical core of the virus that encapsulates the genomic RNA-nucleocapsid complex.
