  • Product overview

Abcam’s Angiostatin Human ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human Angiostatin in serum, plasma (heparin) and cell culture supernatants.

This assay employs an antibody specific for Human Angiostatin coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Angiostatin present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human Angiostatin antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted into the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Angiostatin bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

  • Research areas
  • Relevance
Angiostatin is an internal proteolytic fragment of plasminogen, containing at least three Kringle domains. The Kringle domains have specific anti-migratory and anti-proliferative activities. Angiostatin, an endogenous angiogenesis inhibitor, inhibits endothelial cell proliferation in vitro and angiogenesis in vivo. It is a potent and specific natural inhibitor of angiogenisis and metastatic tumor growth.

Sandwich ELISA Use at an assay dependent concentration.

  • Titration of NIBSC Plasmin (97/536), with background signal subtracted (duplicates; +/- SD).

  • Angiostatin measured in human undiluted biological fluids (duplicates +/- SD). Signals from mouse and rat (pooled) plasma and sera were below level of detection.

  • Standard curve with background signal subtracted (duplicates; +/- SD).

  • Representative Standard Curve using ab99973.

The lab confirmed that the assay will detect plasminogen, in addition to angiostatin. I am going to ask that we change the name of the assay to anti - Angiostatin/Plasminogen, or at least add a note indicating reactivity with plasminogen. Thank you for...
