Matched Antibody Pair Kits include a capture and a biotinylated detector antibody pair, along with a calibrated protein standard, suitable for sandwich ELISA. The Matched Antibody Pair Kit can be used to quantify native and recombinant human BST2.
Matched antibody pair kits and reagents deliver consistent, specific, and sensitive results.
- Batch-to-batch consistency: only recombinant monoclonal antibodies are used in our matched antibody pairs.
- Specificity: antibody pairs are screened in plasma and serum to ensure specificity in complex samples.
- Sensitivity: benchmarked against commercially available antibody pairs to ensure equivalent or superior performance compared with the competition.
Additional buffers and plates are required for the assay. An accessory pack can be purchased which includes buffer reagents required to perform 10 x 96-well plate sandwich ELISAs (ab210905).
For additional information on the performance of the antibody pair used in this kit, please see our equivalent multiplex immunoassay kit (ab219006) which uses the same antibody pair.
To receive an electronic copy of the Certificate of Analysis, please send an email with "CoA for matched antibody pair kit" in the subject line and the desired product number and lot number in the body of the email.

FunctionMay be involved in the sorting of secreted proteins (By similarity). May be involved in pre-B-cell growth. Antiretroviral defense protein, that blocks release of retrovirus from the cell surface. Depleted unpon HIV-1 infection by viral VPU protein through 20S proteasome degradation. Depleted upon infection by human Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) through ubiquitination and subsequent degradation. May play a role in B-cell activation in rheumatoid arthritis.
Tissue specificityPredominantly expressed in liver, lung, heart and placenta. Lower levels in pancreas, kidney, skeletal muscle and brain. Overexpressed in multiple myeloma cells. Highly expressed during B-cell development, from pro-B precursors to plasma cells. Highly expressed on T-cells, monocytes, NK cells and dendritic cells (at protein level).
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the tetherin family.
DomainThe extracellular coiled coil domain is important for virus retention at the cell surface and prevention of virus spreading.
modificationsMonoubiquitinated by KSHV E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase K5, leading to its targeting to late endosomes and degradation.
Cellular localizationGolgi apparatus > trans-Golgi network. Cell membrane. Cell membrane. Late endosome. Targeted to late endosomes upon KSHV infection and subsequent ubiquitination. Targeted to the trans-Golgi network by viral VPU protein.
