    Abcam’s MIP4 (CCL18) Human ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human MIP4 in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.

    This assay employs an antibody specific for Human MIP4 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and MIP4 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated antiHuman MIP4 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MIP4 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

  • Function
    Chemotactic factor that attracts lymphocytes but not monocytes or granulocytes. May be involved in B-cell migration into B-cell follicles in lymph nodes. Attracts naive T-lymphocytes toward dendritic cells and activated macrophages in lymph nodes, has chemotactic activity for naive T-cells, CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells and thus may play a role in both humoral and cell-mediated immunity responses.

    Expressed at high levels in lung, lymph nodes, placenta, bone marrow, dendritic cells present in germinal centers and T-cell areas of secondary lymphoid organs and macrophages derived from peripheral blood monocytes. Not expressed by peripheral blood monocytes and a monocyte-to-macrophage differentiation is a prerequisite for expression. Expressed in synovial fluids from patients with rheumatoid and septic arthritis and in ovarian carcinoma ascitic fluid.

Kit easy to use, the assay takes about 5.30hr, excellent specificity as shown by selective secretion by M2a macrophages (MSCF+IL4) & M2c (MCSF+IL10) compared to the others subtypes (M0=MCSF M1=MSCF+IFNg DEX=MCSF+Dexamethasone TGFb=MCSF+TGFb)
