  • Product overview

Abcam’s CCL28 Human ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human CCL28 in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.

This assay employs an antibody specific for Human CCL28 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CCL28 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated antiHuman CCL28 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CCL28 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

  • Relevance

This protein belongs to the subfamily of small cytokine CC proteins. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for resting CD4 or CD8 T cells and eosinophils and binds to chemokine receptors CCR3 and CCR10. It induces calcium mobilization in a dose-dependent manner. This chemokine may play a role in the physiology of extracutaneous epithelial tissues, including diverse mucosal organs.
