Detection antibody was accidentally diluted in 100 uL of item B (wash buffer) instead of diluent B. Antibody was then further diluted in correct diluent B. During preliminary testing, the background is very high (background is around 0.9). Does the wash buffer contain something (like BSA) that might cause background?

Thank you for your call last week and for your patience while I have been intouch with the lab regarding your enquiry.
I've heard back from the lab, and there is no BSA or anything else in the wash buffer that we would expect to produce higher background. Was there anything else altered in the protocol? Would you be able to send data for us to take a look at?
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else that we can do for you, and I'll be happy to help.
