  • Product overview

Abcam’s CX3CL1 (Fraktaline) Human ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human CX3CL1 in plasma and cell culture supernatants. (Human CX3CL1 concentration is pretty low in normal plasma, it may not be detected in this assay).

This assay employs an antibody specific for human CX3CL1 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CX3CL1 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-human CX3CL1 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRPconjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CX3CL1 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

We have not been able to detect endogenous Human Fractalkine in normal serum with ab100522, only in serum spiked with Human Fractalkine.

Get higher sensitivity in only 90 minutes with Human Fractalkine ELISA Kit (CX3Cl1) (ab192145) from our SimpleStep ELISA® range.

  • Relevance

CX3CL1 is a member of the delta chemokine subfamily that contains a unique CX3C cysteine motif near the N-terminal. Unlike other known chemokines, it is a type 1 membrane protein containing a chemokine domain tethered on a long mucin-like stalk. CX3CL1, a leukocyte chemoattractant, is expressed in various tissues including the brain, heart, lung, kidney, skeletal muscle, and testis. The expression is reported to be up-regulated in endothelial cells and microglia by inflammatory signals. CX3CR1, a specific receptor for fractalkine, mediates both leukocyte migration and adhesion.
