Dear, I have a question regarding Abcam HCG detection assay (ELISA, ab100533). What types of HCG hormone does this ELISA assay detect? Only whole HCG molecule (intact hormone) and not free beta-subunit? Do the used antibodies detect both subunits or only bind to beta? I would like to clarify this issue as it is crucial for my experiments to know which kind of HCG types the assay is detecting. Waiting to hear from you. Best regards,

Thank you for your enquiry. I can confirm that the hCG Human ELISA Kit detects the intact hCG molecule (heterodimer). The capture antibody is a mouse monoclonal and recognizes the alpha subunit (hCG-a). The detection antibody is also a mouse monoclonal and recognizes the beta subunit (hCG-b). I hope this is helpful to you. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
