    • Product overview

Abcam’s IL-28A (Interleukin 28A) Human ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human IL-28A in plasma and cell culture supernatants.

This assay employs an antibody specific for Human IL-28A coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-28A present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human IL-28A antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-28A bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

We have not been able to detect endogenous Human IL-28A in normal serum with ab100567, only in serum spiked with Human IL-28A.

        Question

Has cross reactivity against human IL28B and IL29 been assessed?

        Asked on Apr 19 2013

        Answer

Unfortunately, we do not have any cross reactivity data with ab100567 and IL-28B. Since human IL-28A does have very high homology with human IL-28B (96%) it is possible that the antibody pair in the kit is also detecting IL-28B. However, without data to confirm this, there is no way to be certain. In regards to IL-29, ab100567 shows no cross reactivity.

        Question

Ihave a Customer, who bought an ELISA kit for detection of IL28A (cat. ab100567). He needs to know if also the antibody anti-IL28A can detect IL28B isoform. I was searching in the datasheet, but I considered that information is unclear about that.I will appreciate you may assist with it.

        Answer

        Thank you for your patience.

Unfortunately, it looks like that neither the cross-reactivity has been determined, nor the epitope for this antibody mapped. However, as the two protein are up to 95% identical, it is very likely that the antibody detects the IL28B isoform as well.

        Answer

        Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, epitope mapping has not been performed for the antibodies used in the ab100567, nor has IL-28B been tested with this kit so the cross reactivity with IL-28B is not known. Therefore this information would need to be determined by the customer.

        Question

I wanted to ask if the human IL28A ELISA kit (cat. ab100567) has cross-react with IL28B, since both molecules have a high homology (96%) and I need to know if you have done studies that show that levels of IL28B not interfere with the specific measurement using the ELISA kit IL28B named above or if the measurement of the kit take both molecules.
