    Specifications

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab47417 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

    • Applications

      Blocking

    • Form

      Liquid
    • Additional notes

      - First try to dissolve a small amount of peptide in either water or buffer. The more charged residues on a peptide, the more soluble it is in aqueous solutions.
      - If the peptide doesn’t dissolve try an organic solvent e.g. DMSO, then dilute using water or buffer.
      - Consider that any solvent used must be compatible with your assay. If a peptide does not dissolve and you need to recover it, lyophilise to remove the solvent.
      - Gentle warming and sonication can effectively aid peptide solubilisation. If the solution is cloudy or has gelled the peptide may be in suspension rather than solubilised.
      - Peptides containing cysteine are easily oxidised, so should be prepared in solution just prior to use.

    Question

I’d like to know if I can use your ab47417 peptide to create standard curve in ELISA assay (i.e. Human CXCL10/IP-10 Quantikine ELISA Kit from R&D system).

    Answer

Thank you for contacting us. The peptide ab47417 has been used to raise the IP10 antibody ab47045, and is only about 15-20 residues long: https://www.abcam.com/ip10-antibody-ab47045.html The antibody has not yet been tested in ELISA, and the peptide neither. If you like to try it, we have established a testing discount program for UNTESTED species and/or applications, . Here is a brief description of how it works: The testing discount program is for customers who like to use an antibody/protein on an untested species/application. You would purchase the antibody at full price, test it and submit an Abreview with your data (positive or negative). On your next order you will receive a discount for ONE antibody at the full price (100%) of the antibody you have tested. The terms and conditions applicable to this offer can be found here: https://www.abcam.com/collaborationdiscount. As for the Human CXCL10/IP-10 Quantikine ELISA Kit from R&D system, I am not sure if the peptide would be suitable since I do not know where the epitopes of the antibodies contained in this kit are. If you could provide this information I can check if it overlaps with the immunogen peptide ab47417. I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.
