  • Product overview

Abcam’s PDGF AB Human ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human PDGF AB in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.

This assay employs an antibody specific for Human PDGF AB coated on a 96- well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and PDGF AB present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human PDGF AB antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PDGF AB bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Answer

Thank you for your inquiry.

I can confirm that the capture antibody of ab100623 binds the PDGF-B subunit.

The detection antibody binds the PDGF-A subunit but only in the heterodimeric form (ie. PDGF-AB).

The detection antibody does not recognize PDGF-AA.

Therefore, the ab100623 kit only recognizes PDGF-AB.

I hope this information is helpful and wish your customer good lcuk with their research.

Answer

Thank you for your enquiry. From the search results you have provided, I can confirm that the following PDGF ELISA kits are tested on cell culture samples and will be suitable for this sample type. I can suggest to select one that has been tested in the species the customer will be testing. ab100622 PDGF AA Human ELISA Kit ab100623 PDGF AB Human ELISA Kit ab100624 PDGF BB Human ELISA Kit ab100625 PDGF BB Human ELISA Kit The A and B refer to the subunits and isoforms of the protein. Reviewing the EST expression profiles on the Unigene database, both the A and B subunits are expressed in lung, but A is expressed more than B. However, I can suggest the customer performs a further literature search to confirm this and to obtain more information. Please note that ab100626 included in the search results you provided detects the PDGF beta receptor, not the PDGF itself. I hope this information will be helpful to you. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
