  • Product overview

Abcam’s anti-Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) IgG Human in vitro ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is designed for the accurate qualitative measurement of IgG class antibodies against Respiratory syncytial virus in Human serum and plasma.

A 96-well plate has been precoated with Respiratory syncytial virus antigens to bind cognate antibodies. Controls or test samples are added to the wells and incubated. Following washing, a horseradish peroxidase (HRP) labelled anti-Human IgG conjugate is added to the wells, which binds to the immobilized Respiratory syncytial virus -specific antibodies. TMB is then catalyzed by the HRP to produce a blue color product that changes to yellow after adding an acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration is directly proportional to the amount of Respiratory syncytial virus IgG sample captured in plate.

Answer

The controls in the RSV IgG ELISA are human sera but are not available for sale apart from the kit.

Answer

The antigens are from the Long strain. The kit has only been tested with clinical samples in which the virus strain that initiated the antibody production is unknown. The samples are expected to contain a mixture of antibodies against different RSV strains, so we're not sure if the kit works with IgG against the A2 strain.

Thank you for your patience in awaiting our reply. We have spoken with the laboratory and they are unsure whether this kit will react with African Green Monkey.

Answer

Thank you for contacting us and your interest in the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) IgG Human ELISA Kit (ab108765). I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

The kit is intended to be used to quantify the human anti-RSV IgG present in samples. The kit uses an RSV coated strip wells to bind the human IgG in the sample. Any bound IgG is then detected using the anti-IgG conjugated antibody provided with the kit.

Unfortunately, I am unable to give you any further information in relation to the epitopes recognised by the antibodies provided in this kit.

I am sorry I could not be of more help in this instance. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
